Dr. Shanta Kumari has twenty-five years of progressive experience in general
administration of Nursing Colleges in AP, across India and abroad. She is exceptionally
dedicated and meticulous Nursing Administrator with a passion for Nursing Profession to
teach and lead the budding Nurses to become future Nursing leaders. Currently, she is the
Principal at KIMS college of Nursing, Secunderabad. Dr. Shanta has a strong academic
background, with Gold Medal (undergraduate) as one the many feathers in the cap of her
calling-Nursing. Dr, Shanta is a Postgraduate both in Nursing (NTR university of Health
Sciences) and Psychology (SV University), and awarded PhD from S. P. Mahila Vishwa
Vidhyalaya, Tirupathi. She commands the operational excellency, through flexibility that
the human needs demand. She strongly believes that teamwork, time management and selfmotivation
are key to the organizational effectiveness. Dr. Shanta also endeavours for the
cause of societal challenges by extending her hand to the leading NGOs. She has presented
and participated conferences as delegate, organized workshops, conferences both at
National and international levels. Dr. Shanta is an institution-builder wherein she has
established Nursing Institutions across the country, and the first one being her own
College. She has guided number of Under-graduates, Post-graduate and PhD theses during
her tenure as a Professor and Principal in various colleges. She an Examiner at various
universities for BSc, MSc and PhD programmes. She contributed textbooks and published
article in journals on Nursing. Her contribution for digital content on Nursing education
and INC is commendable.
